About Me:My name is Jessica Isla. I went to college at the University of California, Santa Cruz (UCSC) where I received a Bachelor’s Degree in History and Education (2004) and a Master of Arts Degree in Education, as well as my CA Multiple Subject Teaching Credential (2005). I am currently enrolled in Grad School (once again) at Full Sail University and I am pursuing a Master of Science Degree in Education Media Design & Technology. I expect to graduate August 2012. I grew up in Marin County and moved to Santa Cruz for college and lived there for about 8 years, until I moved to San Jose in 2009.
I am a 1st grade teacher in San Jose, CA, and am very passionate about my career. I started teaching in 2005, but have worked with children since I was in high school. I have worked very hard to earn my BA (US History & Education minor) and MA (Education & CA Multiple Subject Teaching Credential) degrees and I’m currently enrolled in the MS Degree Education Media Design & Technology Program.
I am an only child, but am not the typical spoiled brat. I am often referred to as a very generous, open, and loving person. I love to hang out with my friends and do so on a daily basis. They keep me sane! I absolutely LOVE traveling. I have been to many countries (ranging from the Hawaii, the Caribbean, Canada & Mexico, to about 13 different countries within Europe & 1 in Asia. I would love to continue my travels in the future.
I am, also, a lover of animals and have had many different kinds in my home growing up (cats, dogs, birds, a hamster, and fish) and in my classroom (a bearded dragon, 2 sliding turtles, and a leopard gecko). I currently have 2 Figure Eight Puffer Fish and 2 cats living with me in my apartment.
