- Prezi Presentation introducing Story Jumper

Story Jumper is great way to get emerging writers involved and motivated in the writing process. Some of my students are a bit hesitant to write because their skills are limited, but I can see myself assigning a pair/group project that could involve all levels of learners. Hopefully, Story Jumper will really get my kids involved in the writing process (Brainstorming, Drafting, Editing, Revising, and Publishing).

Here is my Emergent Technologies in a Collaborative Culture (ETC) RILS Commercial that showcases and highlights some of Story Jumper's key features.

I love that you can set up Story Jumper so that each student has a separate login and password. You can then print out a class roster with flyers to send home. The flyers have all of the login information and directions for accessing the program from home. Eventually, I plan on assigning Story Jumper for homework for any students that have online access at home and are ready to venture off independently with their writing. Otherwise, I can incorporate the project into our school computer lab time and ensure that there is enough modeled lessons and support for struggling writers.

I'm so excited to have found such a simple, interactive, and engaging program that I can use to supplement writing during school hours. Story Jumper definitely supports students by allowing them to express themselves in a creative and interactive way through writing and illustrating their stories (using online clipart) in just a few easy steps.

STEP 1 - Click "Create" to open a new project

STEP 2 - Click "Scene" to add a scene for the background

STEP 3 - Click "Props" to add various props from Story Jumper's preselected

image inventory OR uploaded photos from your computer

STEP 4 - Click "Text" to add text/sentences to your pages

STEP 5 - Click "Save" to save progress on the story

STEP 6 - Click "Exit" to be redirected to the "Read/Purchase" page

STEP 7 - Read the published version of the online digital storybook and enjoy!
