Web 2.0 & Open Source

Not quite sure what Web 2.0 is?

Watch this fun, but informative video:

  • MIT Open Courseware - In this age of making more information available and open to anyone, MIT has a virtual treasure trove of courses available. The courses are listed by department with undergraduate or graduate classes available. Whether you are looking to work through an entire course or are looking for specific information, more than likely you will find it here.
  • Glogster EDU (Glogster for Education) - The easiest way to describe Glogster EDU is simply "online posters". Teachers can use Glogster to present topics in class, but it is also a great culminating project for students that can be used in any subject. When a Glogster is first viewed it simply looks like an online poster, but links to files and websites can be attached to the text boxes and graphics. This allows for so much more information than the traditional poster board and marker poster.
  • Pixton Comics - This is a fun, yet educational, tool that both students and teachers use to present a topic.
