Tablet Computing
There are many benefits from tablet computing (i.e. iPads) such as:
- Promotes interactivity
- Promotes digital literacy
- Increases comprehension
- Individual and group work - Students not only work more efficiently on indiviudal work, but also on work assigned to small groups.
- Ease of use - There is not an extensive power-up and is generally easy to use.
- Creativity - The iPad by its very nature invites the student to be creative.
- Critical thinking and problem solving
- Curriculum integration
- Environment - Studies have shown that there was at least a 50% savings in paper and printing by using the iPads (Culen & Gasparini, 2011).
