Classroom Resources

  • ABCya - If there is one site I constantly use, it is abcya. It has educational (and some non-educational) exercises for multiple elementary subjects. Everything from language arts, math, social studies, science, and even technology is available on this one site. Try it out and have fun - it's all free!
  • BrainPop - Designed for students grades 3-8. There are a limited number of free lessons (with activities) available. However, the best way to use this site is to get a subscription. Free trials are also available. Our elementary teachers use it on a regular basis. BrainPop has ready-made lessons, online quizzes, and a variety of activities. This site allows the flexibility to use as much or as little as you would like. Don't forget to also explore www.brainpopjr.com for grades K-3. There is also a Spanish BrainPop.
  • Zoopz - Students have so much fun with this site that they don't realize they're working their brain! Inch Worm and Frog Jumpin' are games that naturally encourage the students to think ahead. Ink Blobs and Mosaic Design allow students to explore their creative side.
  • Spelling City - Teachers can load their own spelling lists into Spelling City. This then allows the students to learn them through various activities, take the quiz and print a graded copy!
