We will celebrate Independence Days (U.S. July 4 and Argentina July 9) with a parilla con practica @ Branch Road on Sunday (July 6) beginning at 5 pm. What’s a parilla? A barbecue! The practica will begin at 5 pm and we will aim to eat around 6 pm (EDT, not tango time). We’ll make a light dinner on the gas grill. I’ll supply burgers, hot dogs, buns, condiments, and some vegetarian sides. You can bring beverage, side dish or dessert if you can. We want to keep it low key and simple. If you are not an omnivore & want to grill, please bring vegan/vegetarian grill food & we will reserve a spot on the grill for you.
Your guests, whether nondancing friends or tango-curious are welcome, as always. If you are new to tango, this is a great opportunity to meet—and dance with—tangueras/os in our fabulous tango community.
In addition, the tango swap will be open. If you have shoes, apparel, CDs, videos, or other tango-relevant items you would like to see have a happy new home, bring them along. We will assume any item not specifically marked “for trade/for sale” is free to a new owner. Items must be clean and in at least “very good” condition. Special note to tangueras: our definition of tango-relevant includes any clothing, shoes, bags that you can imagine wearing to a practica or milonga (in other words, non-tango sandals etc are OK, but no business or exercise clothes).
