On Saturday, June 15, Barbara will host our monthly milonga at her place. Dancing starts at 9 and goes late. Bring a snack to share, if you can. Tango-curious friends are welcome to join us, too.
And, wait, there’s more. . .
June is a great tango month in State College, the Buenos Aires of Central Pennsylvania!
1. Charlie will host and DJ one of his famous Hawai’ian Shirt nights at TUESDAY TANGO on June 18.
2. And then, on Friday, June 22, we will have a special 6 to 7:30 PM demonstration at Webster’s with Stephanie as DJ. Community Argentine Tango has been invited to participate in The Second Annual Central PA Theatre and Dance Fest—two days packed with theatre, dance performances, and social dancing in downtown State College. Webster’s owner Elaine Meder-Wilgus is the organizer and co-chair of the event. For more information (incl how to volunteer), go to centralPATheatre.com.
3. And on Sunday, June 30, rain or shine, we will have our annual Practica con Parilla at Branch Road from 5 pm until 10 or later. What’s a parilla? A barbecue! The practica will begin at 5 pm and we will aim to eat around 6 pm (EDT, not tango time). Stephanie supplies burgers, hot dogs, buns, condiments, guac and chips, and probably another side or two. If the spirit moves you, bring a side dish, dessert, or beverage (soda, juice, beer, or wine). Please do not feel obligated!! The event is low key and simple. If you are not an omnivore & would like to grill, please bring vegan/vegetarian grill food.
