A noun is somebody (מישהו) or something (משהו).
Somebody - people, animals (a boy, an elephant)
Something - things, abstract nouns (a window, weather)
There are count (ספירים - אפשר לספור) and non-count nouns (בלתי ספירים).
Count nouns have 2 forms - singular (יחיד) and plural (רבים).
In singular we put "a / an" before the noun. If a noun begins with a vowel (צליל תנועה - אות נקוד) we put "an".
If a noun begins with a consonant (אות עיצור), we put "a".

In plural we can use "some" or "the" before the noun.
Remember the rules in plural:
1) +s: a girl - girls
2) s, ss, sh, ch, o + es: a bench - benches
3) consonant + y - change "y" to "i" + es: a candy - candies
4) f/fe - change to "v" + es: a shelf - shelves
Exceptions - יוצאי דופן
a man - men
a woman - women
a child - children
a mouse - mice
a foot - feet
a tooth - teeth
a goose - geese
a sheep - sheep
a fish - fish
Non-count nouns have only singular form. We use "is" with non-count nouns.
