· Animal Services (ACAS) can be contacted during their regular business hours (TUE – SAT 10:30 AM – 5:30 PM) at above number where you can make a complaint with the field services dispatcher. An Animal Services Officer will be dispatched to investigate and take the appropriate steps to resolve the issue. They can speak to animal owners and provide verbal education, issue written warnings as well as issuing citations that include a monetary fine if the violation is observed by an Animal Services Officer or if a complainant wishes to issue a sworn affidavit against a dog owner for said violation. Citations are similar to traffic citations and citizens may contest these citations in court. If the citation is issued based on an affidavit from a complainant then that complainant would be compelled to testify or the citation would be dismissed. As such, pictures and video can be important. It is also important to mention that Animal Services Officers will ask about rabies vaccinations and county licensing when investigating any calls.
