SLC rallies from a 2 goal deficit as Berlin mighty defense completely collapses. Both teams were in their first cup final. The game will always be known for the momentum swing in the second half when the pa announcer announced that Berlin hadn't conceded a goal in 63 minutes. Boom! SLC scored and the Germans were incensed! Unable to gain their confidence back, the Berliners never looked the same.
The SCL featured a record 14 teams in this competition. Although Irish Irish, Orcutt Nationals, Stockholm, and Santa Cruzers had a rough introduction to table football, all teams remained competitive and look forward to future competitions. This tournament featured a rare feat in that four teams, San Luis United, San Luis City, Biscotti FC, and Babylon Ballers finished Pool play unbeaten. However, San Luis United was unable to set-up the dream final with their arch-county rivals, San Luis City. It would have featured the first cup final between unbeaten teams.
Once again, another fantastic Subbuteo Champions League and all teams will be geared up for 2008!
