For the 2nd time in their Club history, San Luis United capture the Cup Title. In a rematch of the dramatic 2002 Final, San Luis United and Bishop's Peak reached the Finals despite being the lowest seeds in the playoffs. SLU defeated BP three times in this tournament, finding the usually stingy Peak defense easy to penetrate. In three games, SLU scored 11 times.
Prior to the tournament, it was sadly announced that 4 teams from the Kassis and deKelaita camps had to pull out for political reasons. Fortunately, the tournament was fierce and competitive between the SCL's original six. Nipomo United and Berlin bounced back strongly from dismal 2002 performances. However, both teams underachieved at home. Rumor is that the teams were distracted due to the temptations of Las Vegas.
All in all, another exciting tournament filled with controversy, passion, and the introduction of Instant Replay. However, Instant Replay will not be brought back for future Championships.
