The Cup final featured two bitter rivals in what turned out to be the best Cup Final in League history. After conceding a penalty kick in the early seconds of the game, SLU recovered to take a 2-1 lead shortly before intermission. The second half was intense in which neither team had much space to work with. In the dying moments, it appeared that SLU was on their way to their 2nd Cup Title in four seasons when remarkably, the game was extended by a fortuitous and now infamous "Bounce". The unexpected turn of events gave BP one final chance to equalize. Unbelievably, they stunned the home side and forced penalty kicks. SLU never stood a chance as they were left shell-shocked in defeat. BP wins their 2nd title after missing out on 2 consecutive playoffs.
Pool play featured its usual display of passion and grit. Pool A featured three of the strongest sides in SLU, San Luis City, and defending champs, Assyria Un-united. One of the bright spots featured the emergence of the young Biscotti Biscuits FC. They shocked the world with a playoff berth and were minutes from appearing in the Semifinals. The biggest disappointment were 2000 finalists, Nipomo United. They failed to register a win playing some grotesque football.
