Recap - The most exciting, dramatic, competitive, and controversial season in SCL History. With only 2 points separating 2nd from last, this season ended with a bang. The drama began when Brighton completed the most incredible comebacks in history against Nipomo United. By rallying from a 4-2 deficit with 3 minutes to go, Brighton's win kept San Luis United's playoff hopes alive. However, SLU qualified for the playoffs when Bishops's Peak walked off the pitch against SLU because they would rather face SLU in the playoffs rather than the mighty Nipomo United squard who scored a record 28 goals in 8 games. Making the most of their controversial playoff berth, SLU went on to win their first title by defeating Orcutt for the first time in 2 seasons, and then stunning the heavily favored Bishop's Peak Peakers. The Peakers faced sanctions and were placed on probation. To this day, their accomplishments on the pitch have been overshadowed by their historic black mark on the game.
