"In affectionate remembrance of my dear wife Jessie, who was released from pain on the 18th February, 1918. The spring has clothed both vale and hill/Yet in my heart is winter still. Inserted by her loving husband, D R Ingram, Manunui." (Auckland Star, 18 February 1919, p. 10)

Mr D R Ingram, who for nearly eight years has held the position of postmaster at Manunui, arrived in Auckland yesterday en route for Te Araroa, to take charge of the post office there. A valedictory meeting was tendered for Mr Ingram by the residents of Manunui prior to his departure, at which complimentary reference was made to the esteem in which he was held, and the courteous manner in which he had at all times carried out his duties. On behalf of the gathering, Mr A E Phelan asked his acceptance of a purse of sovereigns as a small token of their regard. Mr Ingram briefly responded.
