MAP : Children and Young Families

We are very conscious that many people do not live in households with young children. We are also aware that many people do not live in traditional family units. But all the research in church membership demonstrates that churches which invest in their work with children grow and are sustainable.


What we already do

Oranges and Lemons, Humpty’s, Stepping Stones, 8 Up, Junior Choir, All–Age Worship, Experience Easter, Schools work, School Governing Bodies.


2016/2017 (Priority Activities)

1. Children’s Ministry Team

To provide more support for the leaders of different groups and make those teams more secure. Integrate the different groups. Prioritize termly meetings and planning. Recruitment drive for more leaders.


2. Baptism Visiting Team.

Develop team of lay people to visit before and after baptism and maintain


3. Humpty’s

Do we need an Advertising campaign?


Possible Future Developments

All-Age worship: do we want to move to more regular pattern (monthly?)

Oranges and Lemons: do we want to include more explicit Faith element (stories, art and craft, and songs)

Messy Church (at St Barnabas?)

Group for Teenagers: Do we want to run a Youth Club?

Children and Youth Worker: If our finances allow it, there are many opportunities to reach out to local young people.
