Although the existing Psionic Disciplines are already powerful, We felt that several areas could be expanded upon. As such, we created the Disciplines of Technopsionics and Visualkenisis. The first leaning into the integration of Psionics and Technology and the second being a more visual and showboating power set.
The Discipline of Technopsionics marked the rise of the integration of Psionics into the technological world. In its most simple form, Technopsionics allows the user to align their mind to that of the electronic signals and code of computers and machines. While novice Technopsionics are only able to interface with computer systems, Masters are able to impart amazing control over advanced equipment and even some influence over Artificial Intelligence.
Unless Otherwise stated most Technopsionic Discipline powers last for 30 seconds, however with the hyper-fast speed and power of modern computers this is often more that enough time to complete their task.
The User is able to interface their mind to any unsecured computer which they can touch. While Interfaced they can search the system for data, change unsecured files and operate unsecured hardware attached. Note most military computer systems have advanced security systems, preventing Interface.
The User is able to gain access to the system of any unsecured hardware, such as a cargo loader or simple robots, that they can touch. The User can then make basic changes to its programming, give it simple orders or turn it on/off. Although the connection lasts only while they are touching the subject, any order made before disconnection remain in effect until the hardware is either shutdown or otherwise purged of infected code. The level of control they are able to exert depends on how automatic the subject is. While a user might have full control over a robot, they would only be able to exert limited actions onto a suit of powered armour.
For the duration of this power, the Psionic reaches out to all digital optical devices within line of sight and floods them with static and random images. Everything from security cameras to advanced binoculars become useless while active, though this can often draw more attention that normal. This lasts for 5 Minutes.
Similar to interface, only now the user can access secured systems with a successful DC 6 Security/Wis Check. This includes most TL 3/4 military systems, planetary bank records and PMC Low Security files. A failed Intrusion causes the system to go into lock-down and can't be intruded again until this is lifted. This lasts for 60 Seconds.
Similar to Manipulate, Administrator allows the Psionic to access secured hardware such as security bots or Combat vehicles with a successful DC 9 Security/Wis Check. A failed Intrusion causes the system to go into lock-down and can't be intruded again until this is lifted. This lasts for 60 Seconds.
With a single touch the User is able to still the workings of any hardware or computer smaller than a grav-tank for 90 seconds. Systems crash, gears lock, power simply stops. Silence is all that remains. While in this state the subject is more vulnerable to other Technopsionic powers, removing any checks needed to access. This also resets any lockdowns the system has suffered. Once this time is up or the Psionic willingly releases their control, the system or hardware comes back online no worse for wear. Once a subject has been Dominated, it is immune to the power for 24 hours.
The User is able to tap into the interconnected signals that permeate developed worlds. The Psionic is able to access any computer or hardware within unaided vision as if they had cast Intrusion or Administrator for the power's duration. Note, if it is a secure system or hardware it still requires a security roll, though failure doesn't trigger an alert. This Power last for 10 Minutes.
The User is able to exert control over every computer system and hardware, as if they had cast Intrusion or Administrator successfully on them, within a hundred meter radius from their body. With this the Psionic is able to jump from system to system, causing havoc and mayhem wherever they go. Even some of the most secure system known to man struggle to resist the influence of this Power. This power lasts for 5 Minutes.
Created during the rise of AIs, Electronic Soul was used by their lovers to become more connected to their digital partners. It allows the user to temporally transcend the limits of real-space and live in the interconnected world of computers. At this level the User is able to perform feats normally limited to that of Artificial Intelligences and even interact with them on a more 'intimate level'. Though there is no limit to how long a Psionic can have this power active, while the User is absent from their body, it slowly atrophies from inactivity, and will eventually succumb to starvation, dehydration or any other cause of death unless the Psionic returns to it. If their body dies while they are 'Transcended' the Psionic's consciousness slowly degrades and defuses out across the variety of systems within their reach. Eventually it leaves nothing but a few ghosts in the machine, destined to be routed out and deleted by maintenance personnel.
While most Psionic Disciplines don't have a visual effect, aside from those inherent to the power, Visualkenesis was built around optical and visual illusions. It is believed that this discipline was created as a new form of Psionic theatre, though its more abstract features lend towards deceitful ends.
Unless otherwise stated, Visualkenesis powers last for 5 minutes and running them for longer requires an influx of Power Points. Meaning that it often takes most of a Psionic's reserves to put on a full length show.
The Psionic creates a hovering ball of light that emits a visual colour of the psionic's choice. The light is able to hover in the air and move freely at the Psionics direction and illuminating everything within 20 meters for up to 1 hour.
A short sound, a small whisper, footsteps, etc, emanates from a position within line of sight. For the duration, the User can change and vary the sound, though never louder than a whisper.
The User shapes and waves shadows into moving objects and effects. While in effect the Psionic can create a shadow illusion up to the size of a car or several smaller objects. Although they are incorporeal and unable to interact with the world, the are able to move and act in anyway the Psionic wishes. The ambient light levels don't affect the shadows, remaining a deep black during the play.
The Psionic manifests a wave of blinding colours that dance and blink throughout the room for a brief moment. Everyone that can see the Psionic must make a Mental Save or be blinded for 4 rounds or 20 seconds. Because the flare is Psionic in nature, it only blinds those that the Psionic wishes, everyone else sees a cascade of dazzling lights. Those wearing advanced eye protection or who are otherwise unable to see aren't affected by this.
For 10 minutes, the psionic is able to generate sounds ranging from mouse steps to a guitar. This can be used to wow a small audience or distract a group of guards. Great for performers anywhere.
For 10 minutes, the Psionic is able to create a realistic illusion of an object up to the size of a car or several smaller phantoms. Anyone who sees it must make a DC 9 Perception check or believe that the object is real, provided they don't touch or otherwise break the illusion.
As the only Visualkenesis power able physically affect someone, Searing Spectrum sends out rapid streaks of burning light that strike the target, causing 1d4 damage and act as if they are burning on a failed mental save, as the damage is caused by tricking the target into believing that they are burning rather than actually setting them on fire. The target can regain their senses if they pass a mental save on their turn.
While active the Psionic is able to manifest several sources at once, ranging from the click of a finger to a crowded music concert. In the pasts this was used to enhance performances and musical renditions, augmenting the existing sounds. This lasts up to 10 Minutes.
For 1 hour, the psionic turns the surrounding area up to forty metres into their stage. Within this area, the User can manifest anything they wish and manipulate them at will. Sound and audio can be created within the area, though audible from outside, often in conjunction with the illusions to create magical performances or terrifying visages.
