6th Sunday of the Year CHURCH NOTICES                   Sunday 11th February 2024

1. The Master of the Dominican Order, Fr Gerard Timoner OP, will celebrate a special  Mass  on this Sunday at 11am in St Saviour’s Church, Dominick St, to mark the opening of the Jubilee year marking the arrival of the first Dominicans in Ireland 800 years ago.  St Aengus Parish is being represented by Fr Ben, Fr Pat & our sacristan Patricia Kelly.

2. Our Monday evening Devotions continue as usual, with Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament at 6.30 p.m. This is followed at 7.00 p.m. by Rosary, the Novena Prayers and Benediction. 

3. Next Weds is Ash Weds and marks the beginning of the season of Lent.  Ashes will be blessed &  distributed after the 10am Mass. There is also a prayer service for young people at 11.30am.

4. Family Trocaire boxes for the Lenten Campaign are available at the back of the Church.

5. “Inspiring Faith”  with Fr Michael Hurley (St Martin’s, Old Bawn)  is a Six-week course during Lent in the Retreat HOUSE, Tallaght.  During these six Monday evenings, Fr Michael Hurley and friends will guide participants to a life-giving awareness of God’s love for us. They will tell stories of the profound, and often surprising, differences that God makes in the lives of people.  The series will examine some central themes of faith.  The 6 Monday evenings (7pm – 8.30pm) will run  from  19th February to 25th March. The Cost:   €75 for six weeks ( or  €15 per week if paying weekly).

6. We thank all who contribute weekly to the Church Envelope Collection by way of Envelope or Standing Order to the Bank.   If you do not have a box of envelopes and would like your family to contribute, there are boxes available at the back of the Church or from the Sacristy.      We appeal to every family in the Parish to lend their support to this most important collection.  There is also the option of donating online by using the DONATE button on the Parish Website.  If you follow our Mass on the webcam we appeal to your generosity to consider making a donation by using the Donate Button on our website. Thank you.

7. The Chuch Gate Collection is for the local Conference of the St. Vincent de Paul.  We ask you to show your usual generosity.
