strays rescued in past few years

An Angel of a stray!

This sweet female, was just the friendliest kitty who loved everyone and

everything. (including dogs and kids), who was a drop off at our cottage.

The SPCA agreed to take this girl. She did have upper resp. symptoms, but

I was assured she would not be euthanized for upper resp. My sister and I

drove a 2 hour drive to bring her back to the SPCA. Unfortunately, she was

euthanized the very day we brought her in due to the upper resp. My sister and

I were devastated, and this was the catalyst that made me decide I would

handle any strays myself, so this would never happen again. (The SPCA

has since changed board of directors, and policies, this would not happen

today).

Gracie

This little female (Gracie) was born to a Mom living outside, she had upper resp.

and was quite sick when taken in. After a bout of antibiotics and eye ointment

she did very well, and a great home was found for her.

Sunny

Sonny was a 2-3 year old drop off, who was so emaciated, full of fleas

and worms and pregnant as well. The vet clinic said she had the worst

case of ear mites they had ever seen, and thought she probably could

be deaf from them. She was spayed, and completely vetted, with the help

of TAPA cat rescue, and place in a loving home where she continues to

do wonderful.

Callie

A dilute calico that was so loving, was sure she was just lost. After much advertising,( for a month), no one was looking for this girl. She was found to be

pregnant, but luckily the home that adopted her, was happy to let her have her 3 kittens, and kept her and 1 kitten, and found homes for the other 2,

Frankie.

This male baby was found in a ditch, on the side of the road. He was only between 6-8 weeks old, and totally blind from a herpes virus. After antibiotic treatments, oral and several eye antibiotics, and eye surgery, he was unable to recover any eye sight. He was adopted by the most amazing couple, who love him unconditionally, finding his blindness to be a gift, rather then a hinderance. He is truly a special boy, who doesn't let his blindness get in the way. I am so appreciative of St. Margaret's Bay animal hospital, who did all they possibly could to help this boy regain some sight.

Frankie as an adult. He's personality plus!

Sissy

This female was hanging around our house for a couple of weeks, before I realized she didn't have a home. As she was so affectionate and in such great shape, I was sure she was just lost, so did much advertising, but nobody seemed to be looking for this sweet girl. She soon came into heat, which made me realize, that she probably had been dumped. I had her spayed, and totally vetted, with the help of TAPA cat rescue, and luckily, she found a wonderful home, within a couple of months.

This little guy was probably a drop off, as he was approx. 3-4 months

old, when he was found hanging around the area, being by himself,

and very hungry. He was found an amazing home.

A little female, that was born outside, After treatment

for upper resp. and some socialization, she was placed in a wonderful home

This female had been born on the farm, but hung around cottages, begging

for food. Although very fearful, she wanted to be near people. She was

gradually tamed, and became a wonderful, loving girl. A home was also

found for her, after a few weeks of being inside

Tux

The veterinarian, thought this boy, Tux, had most likely been hit by a car. He was missing teeth, leg injury, full of lice, and baldness with scars. He was a very fearful boy at first, needing to be trapped. After a couple of months of care, he healed, became a very loving, confident boy, and was adopted into a loving home.(quite a difference in the before and after picture with this boy)

Lily

A month after, the kitty on the left, showed up, this little female was found wondering in the woods near our home. She was totally emaciated, very weak, and very near death. Seeing that she looked almost identical to the kitty above, it reaffirmed to me that these two cats had been dumped, and the little tyke pictured above was lucky enough to have found us, whereas, this little girl, who was much shyer, was not as lucky. She was so sick when she was found, that she was unable to eat, needing syringe feedings for a few days, before she was able to eat small amounts on her own. I did worry that she may not survive.. However, within a couple of weeks, she did start to improve, and as her health improved, so did her confidence. She loved children, but was so afraid of men. Luckily, the couple who finally adopted her, were very patient with her, and she is now a very loved kitty, in her forever home.
