CHARACTERISTICS OF WATER (thermo)
The hot springs in Sokobanja are among the springs with highest concetration of radon in Serbia. In Sokobane there are six such sources. Water temperature ranges from 28 to 45 degrees C.
The outbreak of gases in the spa is great, and each visitor is constantly exposed to mild inhalation, which has beneficial effects on the respiratory system and the organism as a whole. Thus, the following conditions can be treated: asthma, chronic bronchitis, psycho-neuroses, simpler forms of high blood pressure, chronic rheumatism, sciatica, post-injury, chronic gynecological diseases, anemia, and exhaustion.
Nevertheless, this does not cure the initial active tuberculosis, severe heart disease, infectious disease.
Spring water is used in the treatment in the forms of swimming, taking water for drinking and other forms of therapy. Inhalation of the steam is carried out in separate rooms. The most common form of treatment is bathing in thermal waters, when the whole body is stimulated by minerals.
Mineral waters contain: carbon acid, sulfur, chlorine, thermal, mechanical and electrodynamic properties. These waters contain iodine, bromine, manganese, iron, cobalt, copper, ...
By introducing the minerals to the body, they alter the balance of fluid in the tissues. The thermal effects of water improves blood circulation, which leads to increased secretion of harmful substances through the kidneys. This way the strengthening and refreshment of the body begins .
Exposure is also based on the inhalation of steam. Thus, iodine comes to the thyroid gland, bromine to the nerves, hydrogen sulfide to joints, radon to the adrenal glands.
Minerals suppress harmful substances from the body, and they are removed - by expectoration.

1. Izvorište "Sonda Park"

- Kategorija - sulfidno, kalcijum, magnezijum hidrokarbonatna,
hipertermna, oligomineralna voda.
2. Izvor "Bunar Preobraženje"
- Voda bistra, bez ukusa i mirisa sa mehurićima gasa
- Temperatura 43,8 - 53°C
- pH vrednost 7,00 ą 0,4
- Sadržaj rastvorenih sastojaka 524,2mg/l
- Rastvoreni gasovi - ugljen dioksid 1,8
- Kategorija-hidrokarbonatno,kalcijumzemnoalkalna,hipertermna,
radonska, oligomineralna voda.
3. Izvor "Banjica Bazen I"
- Voda bez boje i ukusa, blagog mirisa sumporvodonika
- Temperatura 27,8°C
- pH vrednost 7,33
- Sadržaj rastvorenih sastojaka 590mg/l
- Rastvoreni gasovi - vodonik sulfid 1,2
- Kategorija - kalcijum, magnezijum hidrokarbonatno sulfidna,
slaboalkalna hipotermna oligomineralna voda.
4. Izvor "Banjica II"
- Temperatura 28,9°C
- pH vrednost 7,2 ą 0,3
- Sadržaj rastvorenih sastojaka 585,6mg/l
- Rastvoreni gasovi - vodonik sulfid 0,8
- Kategorija - kalcijum, magnezijum, hidrokarbonatno sulfidno
zemnoalkalna, hipotermna, oligomineralna voda.
5. Izvor "Pijaca"
- Voda bistra sa blagim mirisom sumporvodonika
- Temperatura 32,4°C
- pH vrednost 6,66 ą 0,3
- Sadržaj rastvorenih sastojaka 620,2mg/l
- Rastvoreni gasovi - slobodni ugljendioksid 99,6 slobodni vodoniksulfid 1,8
- Kategorija-kalcijum,magnezijum,hidrokarbonatno sulfidna
homeotetermna oligomineralna voda.
Šest glavnih termalno-radioaktivnih izvora u Sokobanji,
svrstavaju se u dve grupe:
-hipertermaini izvori (kupatilo «Park») sa temperaturom od 39-45' C°
-hipotermaini izvori (kupatilo «Banjica») sa temp. od 28-34' C°
Mineralne vode Sokobanje pripadaju kategoriji alkalnih radioaktivnih voda.
