LSEM Students Awarded Research Grants

Four LSEM students were recently awarded URI research grants. The details:
M.S. student Becca Long was awarded a $700 URI Enhancement of Graduate Reserach Award for the project: "Effect of Waste Amendments Used for Vegetable Production on Soil Levels of Toxic Heavy Metals."
Ph.D. student Jen Cooper was awarded a $1,000 URI Enhancement of Graduate Reserach Award for the project: "High Throughput Sequencing to Elucidate Function and Changes in Nutrient Microbial Community Composition Due to Climate Change."
Undergraduate student Rachel Naylor was awarded a $1,000 URI Undergraduate Research Initiative Award for the project: "Changes to Pathogenic Bacterial Communities in Septic System Soil Drainfields due to Climate Change."
Undergraduate student Rob Bercaw was awarded a $665 URI Undergradaute Research Inititative Award for the project: "Heavy Metal Accumulation for Sweet Corn Production from Waste Amendment Application."
