Many people have asked for video of Smartborer. And finally, we decided to make the video public,
in which you can see how Smartborer looks like. Here is the link:
It was nice meeting you all in Bhutan and thank you for visiting our booth during Worlddendro2018!
If you need my help for sampling cores using Smartborer for your research, please let me know.
As long as you can cover my travel expenses from Japan, I will be able to help your fieldwork.
Right now, I have two confirmed requests and two potential requests from the Worlddendro2018 participants to join their fieldworks. If you are seriously thinking about purchasing Smartborer, I recommend you to try it on one of your fieldworks, because using Smartborer properly and safely requires some training, just like learning how to use increment borers. And this way you can check if it is
what you really need for your work. Since the first purchase of Smartborer by my colleague,
Masaki Sano, many Japanese scientists have seen Smartborer being used in our fieldworks,
and then became convinced how useful the device can be. So far, more than ten Japanese
scientists have already purchased Smartborer and are using them now for their core sampling.
I am sure foreign scientists will find it as useful as Japanese scientists, and hopefully you
will decide to introduce our device.
