The St Johns Parramatta Register of Marriages (no 105) shows the marriage of Francis Oakes and Rebecca Small. Samuel Marsden married them on 27th January 1806. Note that they both signed the register and the witnesses were Rowland Hassall and Hannah Crook.
Rowland Hassall was one of the London Missionary Society group like Francis Oakes.
Hannah Crook was the wife of William Pascoe Crook, school master and another one of the London Missionary Society.
The next entry in the register, no 106 is for Arthur Devlin and Priscilla Squire on 2nd April 1806. They both marked rather than signed. Witness were Joseph Holt and Ann Lucas.
Joseph Holt was another of the Irish rebels transported with his wife on the Minerva in 1799. He was influential in the colony and managed Brush Farm for William Cox prior to the present house being built for Gregory Blaxland.
Ann Lucas married Charles Williams at St Phillips Sydney and Arthur Devlin was one of the witnesses.
