Information

    • Contents
    • Currently eBooks contain mostly text and only few pictures. These contents can be edited with word processing programs or apps. Especially interesting for teamwork is the use of editors in the cloud .
  • Path 1: Computer
    • You can summarise and convert prepared contents with special programs, such as Calibre and Sigil, into files of the formats EPUB or MOBI.
  • Path 2: Pressbooks
    • With the online service Pressbooks you can create eBooks directly online and publish them like a website by using the Web browser. With the function "export" you can also produce EPUB-files.
  • Path 3: Readlists
    • With the online service Readlists you can bundle a group of web pages - articles, recipes, course materials, anything - into an eBook, which you can send to your Kindle, iPad or iPhone.
  • Path 4: Apple
    • With the iBook Author you can create multimedia eBooks. In the moment you can use this path only with an Apple computer, so it will be not discussed here for the present.
  • Path 5: Wikipedia
    • With the book creator of Wikipedia you can create a book containing wiki pages of your choice. You can export the book in different formats (for example PDF or ODF) or order a printed copy.
  • Path 6: Papyrus
    • Papyrus gives you a very simple online editing interface to create your books. You find all information in the small tutorial made by Papyruseditor. Papyrus lets you create books in pdf, epub and kindle formats. Convert your blog to a book in one click. Share your ebook with your readers and collect feedback.

Aufgaben

  • Create an eBook on a subject of your choice using Pressbooks (Path 2). Do this, if possible, with one or more users in teamwork.
