Walkable & Bike-Friendly Neighborhood

Our location has a walkscore of 97 (that's out of 100, yes!).

We are in the section of Noe Valley known as "Baja Noe." We are a 5- to 20-minute walk from the "main street" of four different neighborhoods ... Noe Valley, Bernal Heights, the Mission, and Glen Park Village. Each neighborhood offers a variety of shops, restaurants, parks, book stores, pubs, night life, and more. Within 20 minutes you can walk to Dolores Park, the top of Bernal Heights, or Billy Goat Hill for beautiful city views.

Our neighborhood has mostly flat, wide sidewalks, and you'll see plenty of people out walking with dogs, baby strollers, or both.

Bicyclists, we have an easy-access, locked bike storage area available for you!

SF Vacation Hut is located in a FLAT part of the City, right next to the Valencia Corridor bike path. From our house you can bike almost any where in the City without climbing a steep hill ... just stay close to the Bay or follow the Wiggle!

If you are inclined to hills (pardon the pun), you can have all sorts of fun climbing to nearby Twin Peaks and Bernal Heights. On a sunny day, it's a fun and easy ride through Golden Gate Park to Ocean Beach, or through the Presidio ot the Golden Gate Bridge. (It's about the same distance to either one).

For a longer journey, you can cross the bridge to Sausalito and the Marin Headlands. It's about an hour-long ride to Sausalito. Or you can head south to Pacifica (about a 90-minute ride) or Half Moon Bay (about 3 hours one way). If you wanted to bike down to Half Moon Bay for lunch, you could be back to SF Vacation Hut in time for supper.

Bicyclists, you'll find a copy of the City's very helpful bike map waiting for you at SF Vacation Hut. Check sfbike.org for a .PDF of this map, and other resources to help you navigate the city on bike.
