Week 2

I have learnt the purpose of groupware which is a tool used for communication; there are two types of groupware: Asynchronous and Synchronous. This might be useful to me in the future as I would need it for my upcoming coursework.

Additionally, I have also learnt about Desktop and Real time Data conferencing by selecting the tools, reviewing their functionalities and analysing the strength and weakness in order to see which tool is the most useful and the least useful for the following:

• Electronic Chat

• Chat, Whiteboard, Video, Voice

• Electronic Meeting System with voice link

• Electronic Display with voice link

• Video with voice

• E-mail

• Bulletin Boards and web page

I have found out that the above tools are most useful for generating ideas and plans and collecting data.
