Presentation by Prof. Choi at Yonsei Univ.
On the way from Singapore to Kampar, we enjoyed the view of the countryside of Malaysia.
Small creek in Kampar's old city.
Made a presentation entitled: Unsteady Features of Bedload and Near-Bed Turbulence Measured in a Braided Gravel Bed River
My visit time in Singapore this time is very short but succeeded to see a legendary lion!
Sunny and beautiful sunset. Able to talk with many friends at the conference venue!
Prepaid card for transport with Hangyodon!
Visited the Yahagi River from the upstream Yahagi Dam to the downstream tidal reach, with the guidance of river manager in April 2025. Four students were also joined to see how the river and its water are managed.
Yahagi dam: Waiting water discharge from a gate for the maintenance.
Sediment stockpile: Sediment was moved from the dam reservoir to the downstream to restore natural sediment flow.
View from the Toyota Stadium: The Riverside promenade has been designed to provide a space for people to enjoy a variety of activities.
Hiring master's and doctoral students for research projects is not very common in labs in Japanese universities.
Those interested in joining us will either have to pay your expenses or apply for a scholarship. Scholarships are either private or public.
For post-doctoral study, JSPS provides postdoctoral fellowships.
Self-driven research projects are quite important in master's and especially doctoral course. Accordingly, the research proposal by the applicant is quite important. I can advise but the proposal must be prepared by the applicant.
To consult on the master, doctoral, and post-doctoral studies, send your research proposal and C.V. by e-mail.
