Unlike in some other countries, hiring master's and doctoral students as paid research assistants is not common in Japanese university laboratories. Therefore, prospective students are expected to either secure a scholarship or cover their own expenses. 

Scholarships for master's and doctoral studies are available from both public and private sources, such as MEXT and JASSO. 

For postdoctoral researchers, JSPS provides postdoctoral fellowships.

We place great emphasis on self-driven research, particularly in our doctoral program. Consequently, the applicant's research proposal is a critical part of the application. While I can offer advice and feedback, the proposal itself must be independently prepared by the applicant.
