Roch Valley District Association (RVDA) respects your right to privacy. In the statement below you will find details of how the DA protects and uses your personal information.
What information do we collect?
RVDA website does not automatically collect visitor information. However, this site is hosted by the web space provider (Server) 1&1 Internet Limited.
As with most Internet Service Providers (ISP) the IP address (location of your computer on the internet), what pages were accessed and file downloads from the site can be, and are, routinely tracked. Monitoring of such information helps the ISP- determine the activity on the website and which pages are most popular. This information is used to develop and improve services online to users. Additionally, in the event of a breach of security this information may be used to aid detection.
We may collect, store and use the following kinds of personal data:
(a) information that you provide to us for the purpose of email notifications and/or newsletters.
(b) any other information that you choose to send to us.
RVDA has a policy not to provide your personal data to any third parties.
RVDA does not knowingly gather or store you personal information, through this web site, without your knowledge. Any personal information gained, intentionally or otherwise, will not be passed on to any third party without the written consent of the owner. The only exception to this being in the event of a written request by an appropriate and official law enforcement or government office.
Using your personal data
We may use your personal information to:
(a) Administer the website.
(b) Send to you goods requested or purchased via the website, and supply to you services purchased or requested via the website.
(c) Send you general non-marketing, non-commercial communications.
(d) send you email notifications which you have specifically requested.
(e) send to you our newsletter and/or other communications relating to our web site which we think may be of interest to you by post or by email or similar
technology (you can inform us at any time if you no longer wish to receive such communications).
(f) Deal with enquiries and complaints made by or about you relating to the website.
Where you submit personal information for publication on our website, we will publish and otherwise use that information in accordance with the license you grant to us. We will not, without your express consent, provide your personal information to any third parties for the purpose of direct marketing.
What are Cookies?
A cookie consists of information sent by a server to a web browser (the user), and stored by the browser. The information is then sent back to the server each time the browser requests a page from the server. This enables the server to identify and track the browser.
RVDA do not use or store cookies. However, the Server may do so.
They may use both “session” cookies and “persistent” cookies on the website. If they do so, they will use the session cookies to: keep track of you whilst you navigate the website; and they will use the persistent cookies to: enable their server and our website to recognise you when you visit.
Session cookies will be deleted from your computer when you close your browser. Persistent cookies will remain stored on your computer until deleted, or until they reach a specified expiry date. Session ID cookies may be used by the server to track user preferences while the user is visiting the website. They also help to minimise load times and save on server processing. Most browsers allow you to refuse to accept cookies. For example, in Internet Explorer you can refuse all cookies by clicking “Tools”, “Internet Options”, “Privacy”, and selecting “Block all cookies” using the sliding selector. This will, however, have a negative impact upon the usability of many websites.
Links to Third Party Sites

(b) in connection with any legal proceedings or prospective legal proceedings;
(c) in order to establish, exercise or defend our legal rights.
Please let us know if the personal information which we hold about you needs to be corrected or updated.
International data transfers

In addition, personal information that you submit for publication on the website will be published on the internet and may be available, via the internet, around the world. You expressly agree to such transfers of personal information.
Security of your personal data
We will take reasonable technical and organisational precautions to prevent the loss, misuse or alteration of your personal information. We will store all the personal information you provide on our secure password and firewall protected database. Of course, data transmission over the internet is inherently insecure, and we cannot guarantee the security of data sent over the internet.
You may instruct us to provide you with any personal information we hold about you. Provision of such information may be subject to the payment of a fee in order to cover any cost incurred in doing so (no profit will be gained).
