Five years ago(2009), A-san suffered from anemia while working on the back of a truck. He fell off the truck before landing on the concrete surface; however, he only sustained scratches on the face and some bruises on the left shoulder. Because A-san had hit his head, he went for a check-up at a nearby clinic as a precaution. There was some bleeding from the impact of the fall and he was transferred to a large hospital by ambulance. Medical examinations then discovered gastric ulcer bleeding and heart disease, both of which were totally unrelated to the accident. Moreover, spasmodic cardiac myopathy was identified and A-san was certified as suffering from a specified medical condition. Had he not been involved in the accident, these problems could have gone unnoticed. The gastric ulcer was completely treated by simply administering medication and he was discharged from the hospital in a short time. In addition, thanks to the certificate for a specified medical condition, A-san was ex
empted from paying half of his medical fees. This meant a great help for A-san who was in financial difficulties. Despite having been diagnosed with such illnesses, A-san can carry on business as normal. He is also able to participate in voluntary services with other followers who do not have health issues.
