This is a wonderful physical experience reported from RHK’s Koriyama Branch. A-san received the Divine Connection with Goshugojinsama after her mother was taken ill; however, it was not until many years later that she started pursuing the path earnestly herself. She has been pursuing the path by engaging in missionary work and voluntary service with her section members. She is particularly enjoying the designated voluntary service with many other followers and has been so participating with a sense of gratitude and joy for 15 years. However, most likely due to old age, she started experiencing hearing difficulty in both ears since two years ago. It did not cause much trouble as long as she was talking with someone in vicinity. However, it was difficult for A-san to catch what was being said by a speaker at the front of the Prayer Hall when she was seated at the back.
Despite the impaired hearing in both ears, apart from the difficulty with hearing, there were no other symptoms such as buzzing in the ears. Therefore, she never consulted a doctor about the problem. On November 13th, after participating in the designated voluntary service, A-san sat in the Prayer Hall, awaiting to offer the “united prayers for the world peace” at 12 noon. When the drum was beaten rapidly two to three times, the sound suddenly resonated loud and clear to her, creating an enormous echo in her both ears. A-san wondered what had just happened. Then, she realized that the hearing difficulty had been cured and sound was now comfortably travelling through her ears! A-san could hardly hold back her joy and excitement but, surprisingly, someone else was also experiencing a miracle at the same time. B-san, who is another member of the designated voluntary service, also had her hearing difficulty cured when she heard the beat of the drum while participating in the united pra
yers for the world peace. Through these wonderful physical experiences, A-san learned the significance of offering the united prayers for the world peace at 12 noon.
