Red Mist Academy

Oli Stone having recovered from surgery and being fully fit to play again for Warwickshire, broke his finger just before the start of The Hundred. He has just announced he will be joining Nottinghamshire for the 2023 season.

Our Congratulations go to former Red Mist Academy player, Oli Stone, as he was selected to represent England in Sri Lanka, West Indies, played his first test versus Ireland and for the Ashes series in the winter playing his first game in 2018. Unfortunately he has developed an injury and has had surgery and we wish him a speedy recovery for the 2022 season with Warwickshire and hopefully again for England.

Congratulations go to Robyn Edge who has been taken on by Sussex CCC Ladies after a successful winter and start to the summer. Beth Harmer has had a superb season playing for Loughborough Lightning and scored her maiden century. A number of girls have been connected with Essex Sunrisers including Emily Woodhouse, who made her debut at Old Trafford. Last winter Academy player, Emma Thompson was also included in Sunrisers EPP.

Former Red Mist Academy player, Callum Taylor, was given a two year full contract with Essex CCC. Callum has impressed throughout the season in all formats of the game, including representing England in the U-19 World Cup. He made his debut for Essex in 2015. He has now returned to Norfolk.

Rob Newton continued his good form with Northants, and has captained the team this season.

Former Academy player, Alex Patmore has become the first to play at International level, representing Japan in the ICC qualifying divisions. A recent 91 was followed by 100. Alex played for Vauxhall Mallards until moving for University and then going to Japan where he was picked up by the Japanese coach. Alex was born in Tokyo and hence qualified to play for the national team.

Matthew Taylor, Will Rogers and Matthew Plater were offered places on Northamptonshire C.C.C. Academy for the 2016 season. We wish them well as they move on to this new and challenging level in a quest for a full professional contract. Matt Taylor recently took 8 wickets for 5 runs against Lancashire in an U-25 match for Northamptonshire.

Red Mist continues to produce players that are making major contributions at club and County level. Many of this years group have attended Pre Academy sessions at Northants and Essex, plus some have been seen by other counties and invited to attend sessions this winter.

Red Mist continues as a scouting organisation for Northamptonshire CCC.
