Proquest is the name of the company that produces the 3 specialized databases we subscribe to at our library; eLibrary, Culturegrams and SIRS.

What are the three databases?

eLibrary

E-library offers full-text articles from over 2,000 sources including magazines, newspapers,encyclopedias, books, television/radio transcripts, maps, pictures and audio/visual files. It is easy to download and e-mail resources.  You will also find citation information.  You may search for resources by state standards. 

Culture Grams

Everything you've always wanted to know about particular countries will be found at this database.  Included in the country reports are slideshows with original pictures, recipes of favorite foods and even video clips.   

SIRS (Social Issues Resources Series)

SIRS is best known for its Leading Issues section.  There is a list of over 100 topics available for research fully supported with opposing viewpoint resources that have been editorially selected.  Other sections include Today's News, Spotlight On (every month there is a new topic chosen for students to learn about) and Curriculum Pathfinders that matches resources to all the core subject classes including fine arts and health.  You may search for resources by state standards.
