Adin B Lowe

Adin B. Lowe was born on February 7, 1827, in Hickman, Tennessee, to Sarah Phillips, age 37, and Richard C Lowe, age 41. He appears in the 1850 US Census of Hickman, TN (Dwelling and Family #827) as 23 year old Aden Lowe with his wife Margaret (Margaret Elizabeth Christian) age 23. His occupation is listed as Farmer with a Real Estate Value of $1500. His son FC was born in Missouri in abt. 1853 with a daughter Mary born March 15, 1858 in Ripley County Missouri. The family appear on the 1860 US Census for Missouri, Ripley County, Doniphan (Dwelling # 637, Family #627) as Adin Low 32, M Low 30, FC Low 7, Mary Low 1. Also appearing in the household is Robert Payton 27 and Epsy Payton 55. Adin's occupation is listed as a Lawyer with a Real Estate value of $1200 and a Personal value of $400.

Service Records for the Mexican War have an Aden Lowe Age 21 enlisting in Nashville, TN on September 30, 1847 as a Corporal in the 3rd Infantry Company K.

In 1861 Aden Lowe enlisted in the 1st Division of the Missouri State Guard, 3rd Infantry Regiment, Company A. Records show his rank in was Corporal and his rank out was Colonel. While leading the 3rd Regiment during the battle of Fredericktown, MO, Col Adin B. Lowe was shot in the head and died October 21, 1861, in Fredericktown, Missouri.

Colonel Aden Lowe was buried at the Saint Michaels Catholic Cemetery in Fredericktown, Missouri at the age of 34.
