ARRL America250 WAS Special Event at Wind Point Park on Lake Tawakoni
Severe Winter Weather forced the club to cancel its annual Winter Field Day at Wind Point Park, however the park has allowed us to reschedule the venue, so we have scheduled a special event for Saturday and Sunday March 14, 15:

The club will be operating under the K5RKW call sign as an ARRL Affiliated Club in the ARRL America250 Worked All States contest celebrating the 250th anniversary of the United States. QSOs with K5RKW will qualify as a contact with a affiliated club in Texas. We will be in Red Bird Hall (see map below) which has power, heat, restrooms, and plenty of space and trees outside for antenna deployment.
Cabins and shelters are available to rent from Wind Point Park.
Setup times and operating schedules will be the similar to WFD.
Setup is from 8am - 10am Saturday morning.
Get on the air starting around 10am (1500utc) on Saturday and will en at 1pm (1800utc) on Sunday.
We will be operating under the club call sign K5RKW.
Tell the staff at the front office you are with the Rockwall Amateur Radio Club and they will wave your entrance fee.
Talk-in: We will be monitoring 147.560 mHz simplex.
Food and drink is B.Y.O.
Remember with General and Extra licensed hams present, this is a great opportunity for Technician licensed hams and not yet licensed hams to be to come and operate HF phone and digital as well as check out and operate the different radios and antennas club members bring for this event.
