Asus OC bios
Asus OC bios extends the overclocking abilities of a normal Radeon HD7970 bios. I use it when I bench, and turn my card back to my original bios afterwards.
Download bios from TechPowerUpS Asus.HD7970.3072.120104.bin
The extended capabilities of the Asus OC bios can only be utilized using Asus GPU Tweak utility
Download Asus GPU Tweak utility ASUS-GPU-Tweak
To flash the card, I recommend two apps. The first app is GPU-Z, in which you can backup you daily bios, before flashing the Asus OC bios. The next app is ATIWinflash, which is used to flash the different bios files.
Download ATIWinflash ati_winflash_2.0.1.14.zip
Download GPU-Z GPU-Z.0.5.9.exe
Further more its a good idea to get the latest ATI drivers from benchmark3d.com.
Procedure:
Install latest GFX drivers
Install ASUS GPU Tweak utils
Unzip/Install atiwinflash in ASUS GPU Tweak directory
Move ASUS OC bios to ASUS GPU Tweak utils directory
Rename Asus.HD7970.3072.120104.bin to Asusoc.bin
Run GPU-Z and dump backup of GPU bios
Rename Backup bios to Original.bin
Move backup GPU bios to ASUS GPU Tweak utils directory
Install/Unzip atiwinflash to ASUS GPU Tweak utils directory
Download and unzip bios file and put the files in ASUS GPU Tweak utils directory
To flash from windows, you can use my batchfiles, which makes it simple you can use these two files
To OC bios, run the file asusoc.bat with "Administrator" rights
To original bios, run the file original.bat with "Administrator" rights.
After each change of bios, be sure to reboot the computer.
