No, not a short-tailed shearwater or Australasian gannet, but today we were joined in the field by John Arnould, from Deakin University, Melbourne, Australia, John has been collaborating on the GPS tracking of shags and kittiwakes and this year is involved with the use of accelerometers to look at shag foraging and diving behaviour in more detail. John spent the day on the island with Jon, Louise and Johann, getting an idea of the site and thinking of possibilities for future collaborative projects.
