Most early intervention services take place in the child's most natural environment - at home, at daycare, at the playground, etc. We believe that a child is more likely to engage in play and learn in everyday settings and with familiar people.
Each child and family at BEAM is assigned a service coordinator - a primary provider that works with the family to assist with program planning. The service coordinator travels to the home (or another agreed upon location e.g. other family member's house, daycare) and spends time working directly with the child and caregivers.
Individualized services include home visits, playgroups, consultations, parent support and referrals to other community agencies as needed. Service coordinators and providers come from different backgrounds including but not limited to child development, occupational therapy, physical therapy, speech and language pathology, nursing, mental health and social work.
