Rotationally Symmetric Scalar Compactness

Scalar Curvature and Intrinsic Flat Convergence - Prof. Sormani

Fields Institute Summer School on Geometric Analysis

Rotationally Symmetric Scalar Compactness Project (p 82 of course notes)

Original Team:

Hanci Chi (McMaster Grad Student)

Jiewon Park (MIT Grad Student)

Keomkyo Seo (Sookmyung University, Assoc Prof)

Wenchuan Tian (Michigan State Grad Student)

Changliang Wang (McMaster Postdoc)

Dong-Hwi Seo (KAIST Grad Student)

Keomkyo Seo and Hanci Chi left the team, but the other three continued working.

Jiewan Park met with Prof Sormani at MIT in September and went over all the work the team has done since leaving the Fields Institute. The different parts of the project were broken down to be assigned to different team members.

Jiewon Park and Prof Sormani met again at the CUNY Scalar Curvature Workshop in January 2018.

Shangwen Wang and Prof Sormani met at the SCGP Spring School at Stony Brook in March 2018.

Wenchuan Tian met with Prof Sormani at Lehigh and Jiewan and Shengwen skyped in. Major progress at this session followed by regular skype meetings of this team.

Wenchuan met with Prof Sormani at the Montreal meeting, and Jiewan and Shengwen skyped in. We've continued meeting by skype until their paper was completed:

Jiewon Park, Wenchuan Tian, and Changliang Wang "A Compactness Theorem for rotationally symmetric Riemannian manifolds with positive scalar curvature" PAMQ Vol 14 (2018) no. 3-4.

Wenchuan Tian and Changliang Wang have continued working on proving the Compactness Conjecture in other settings.
