3.4 Fence

Specification:

Layout: The attached drawing fence setting out now shows:

1.       the fence going right round the putting area;

2.       a single gate for players;

3.       double gate (not yet on drawing but just beyond the kiosk position giving direct tractor access to the green avoiding the slabbed areas);

4.       three pieces of fencing adjacent to the slabs beside the kiosk – not required initially.

The Fence: 900mm high, timber post and rail fence, at 1800mm centres, diagonally braced and green PPC wire mess infill panels – see Attachment, Fence. Any photographs of fences which you have constructed would be helpful .

We are particularly concerned to ensure that the fence will withstand the adverse weather conditions that frequently occur at the Promenade.

1.       Posts: size, initial treatment, ongoing treatment, concrete depth?

2.       Diagonal Brace: size, initial treatment, ongoing treatment?

3.       Top Rail: size, initial treatment, ongoing treatment?

4.       Wire Mesh: green, wire diameter, mesh spacing, steel wire support?

5.       Gates: single and double, proposed design, furniture?

6.       Debris: Skips and permits as required?

7.       Guarantee: What do you offer?

Timescale: The plan is to open the putting green on Prestwick Prom date, Saturday 1 June 2013. We want the fence installed before serious work can start on preparing the ground, at about the end of April.
