Regretfully the original kiosk was demolished. The new kiosk is square in plan with sides of approximately 3.0m giving and external gross area footprint of 9.0m2. This will be the payment point for anyone wishing to play and be used for the storage of balls, clubs, hole markers and pin flags etc when the facility is not in use.
The kiosk has been kept as simple as possible and is designed and will be constructed to form a robust building to stand against the exposed climate of the site and also to withstand potential vandalism.
The intended materials are powder coated aluminum insulated cladding for the roof; rendered block work with a white quartz chip finish on the walls; UPVC windows and a solid core timber door in a half door stable style.
The form, essentially a cube with a pyramidal hipped roof is one that is commonly found and associated with seaside esplanades and indeed there have been small buildings and shelters with a similar form in earlier times at Prestwick esplanade.
All doors and windows will be protected by integrated recessed shutters for security when not in use.
