School Budget

Find School's Budget-Galaxy Budget Allocations*

1. From your school portal homepage, on the left, locate the link for "Statistics & Budget"

2. From the "Statistics & Budget" page, scroll down to find "Galaxy Budget Allocations" This leads you to a detailed description of the various funding streams your school receives. This lists the specific allocations your school receives (city, state, federal and private streams).

3. Back at the "Statistics & Budget" page, scroll down to find " Budget Summary" This leads you to a detailed description of the items your school budget is paying for.

*This is not the Galaxy Table of Organization Report.

as Per Chancellor's Regulations A 655:

"To ensure the alignment of the CEP and the school-based budget, any SLT member may request (on behalf of the SLT) the Galaxy Table of Organization Report entitled “Public/SLT View” (with job ID and confidential information redacted) up to two times per semester and, in response, the principal shall provide this report within 5 school days. In addition, any member of the SLT may obtain from the DOE web site the Galaxy Budget Allocations, which are posted when allocations are issued for the new fiscal year, and the Galaxy Table of Organization Summary Reports, which are posted

at the beginning of each academic year."

The UFT has certain contractual provisions regarding the school's budget:

"Before the end of June and by the opening of school in September, to involve faculties and foster openness about the use of resources, the principal shall meet with the chapter leader and UFT chapter committee to discuss, explain and seek input on the use of the school allocations.

As soon as they are available, copies of the school allocation will be provided to the chapter leader and UFT chapter committee.

Any budgetary modifications regarding the use of the school allocations shall be discussed by the principal and chapter committee.

The Board shall utilize its best efforts to develop the capacity to include, in school allocations provided pursuant to this Article 8B, the specific extracurricular activities budgeted

by each school."
