Directing Actors
- break down the script, mark events
- give the actors an action to play, verbs and adverbs
The Art of Persuasion
- lead them there, but make them think it was all their own idea
Rehearsals – clearly define the space for the actors → spatial memory, they'll remember lines and blocking better
Blocking → curves help, more natural looking. Have purposeful, precise movements, be specific
- leave the fewest number of footprints (imaginary) on the stage, ie. No pacing
Design
- the world of the play
- serve the story
- Ground plan, define the space – in director's book
