WATER SAMPLING PROTOCOL
1. Let the water run for at least five minutes before filling the bottle. You want to ensure that any standing water in the system has been run off before you take the sample. If there hasn’t been significant water use in the house that morning, let the water run longer.
2. Remove any screens or accessories from the faucet.
3. Wash your hands.
4. Wash the faucet then flame it with a match or lighter for 2 to 3 seconds to sterilize it.
5. Fill the bottle to the line indicated. Be careful not to contaminate the inside of the cap or the rim of the bottle with your hands or any surfaces.
6. Please ensure that you have the date, time, and address on the bottle label and the paperwork. The sample is sent by Pine Ridge Water Utility Society. This information needs to be on the bottle.
7. Water must be at the Government Health Office BEFORE 11:00 a.m. on TUESDAY. Pick up new bottles when you deliver the samples.
