There are no real rules here for changing adjectives and verbs to nouns, just tendencies.
For example, -ible generally changes to -ibility. However, as -ent might change to -ence (e.e. patient/patience) or -ency (e.g. fluent/fluency) or even add -ment (e.g. content/contentment), it is probably best to know that these endings need learning.
There may be a change in pronunciation or shift in stress when a word is changed from verb/adjective to noun.
