One-of-a-kind career
You might not know it, but Europeans do not fit the stereotype of a 50 year career in the same company anymore. It might also surprise you, compared to what you have heard from your country people abroad, that finding and keeping a job is quite grueling. And Philippe’s career is one of many examples of that situation. Therefore, one has to be very flexible and adaptable and it is not uncommon to see this kind of resume.
Philippe has been employed by more than 30 employers having gone through more than 20 different professions, from farmer to director, passing by taxi driver, secretary, shop assistant, interpreter and manager not mentioning freelancer. Some of his jobs include:
Shop assistant and designer
Journalist
Photographer
Intranet administrator
Customer service manager
Manager assistant for a home decoration store
Police officer
Language teacher
Director of studies
Internationally known teacher
You probably know him more as a language teacher since Facebook, Skype and his freelance teaching abroad happened almost at the same time. But did you know that he is known internationally?
Philippe is the pioneer of Skype lessons. As soon as Skype came to life, Philippe jumped on the occasion and started to propose his teaching by Skype when the latter was still improving its platform! While Philippe already proposed his service by Skype, it is only in 2008, while being in Moscow that his online teaching started to soar. The cause is that few people knew Skype before that time or they were quite sceptic about the quality of teaching. But Philippe stood fast and he was right.
Now he teaches from wherever he is and whenever the students are and they can be from Colombia, New York, Tunis, Kiyv, Vladivostok , Tel-Aviv, or France. Nothing stops him!
To make sure that the students have the same classroom experience, not only does he allow group lessons, but he also created a website to which students have access, only for them, depending on their course, language and level! It is a multi platform website: Phyl Teacher’s classroom!
He also has his own commercial website: forslinguae.com (unavailable for the moment)
New project
You would think that, having passed the age of half a century, Philippe would stop there. That is not knowing his energy!
He has now embarked in the fastidious and titanic project of organising language trips in Europe for English or French learners.
Of course you think it is not new. But his concept of language learning abroad fills the needs of what is already on the market, combining holiday, culture, language learning, international exchange and other things in just one package!
His first and brand new project is a trip to London! You can find more about it on this website: Trip to London 2017 (yes, another one!)
Were you surprised? Do you have any comment? Do you want to add an important and relevant detail?
