2009 Annual Meeting Minutes

I. 2008 Year in Review
Adam Silber brought the meeting to order with a review of 2008 – including an overview of the successful completion of our deck cleaning project, improved lawn care and expansion of the Association Web site.
II. Budget Review
Donald Manner reviewed the Association budget with a comparison of 2008 expenses to 2009 projected spending.
Donald presented the addition of $200 for plantings along
Pennwood Avenue
Aaron Billger explained how the money would be used in conjunction with the Edgewood Garden Club's master planting plan.
Members unanimously approved expenditures for plantings and unanimously approved the 2009 budget and agreed to volunteer time to assist with spring planting.
III. Architectural Preservation
Aaron Billger and Adam Silber led a detailed section by section review of the Architectural Preservation Guidelines, modified from the last Association discussion.
With the elimination of the portable air conditioner section, the members unanimously approved the guidelines. Members not in attendance will vote independently.
Adam Silber was nominated and unanimously approved for a two-year term as Chair of the Architectural Preservation Committee.
Christy Thomas, Lori Geist and Aaron Billger agreed to serve on the Architectural Preservation Committee.
IV. Strategic Planning
Adam Silber reviewed the Association’s five-year strategic plan.
Adam spoke this spring’s cleaning of the fence along the parking lot.
Group discussion focused on the major initiative of re-paving the parking lot. It was determined that further research would be conducted and a proposal be brought to a future Association meeting.
Lisa Seligman offered the suggestion of consideration in planning to re-paint the parking lot lines, which the group agreed to consider for 2009.
Aaron Billger offered the suggestion of base stair handrails, which the group agreed to consider for strategic planning once more information was obtained.
V. Election of Officers
Adam Silber was nominated and unanimously approved by the members for a two-year term as Association President.
Aaron Billger was nominated and unanimously approved by the members for a one-year term as Association Secretary.
VI. Open Discussion
The group discussed the need for homeowners to leave their outside lights on for neighborhood safety.
