Note: even though the multi-year package directory was shared with you and is in your Google Drive area, it may not appear as a "Shared Documents" item.
write, copy and paste, or upload your letter (uploading is not preferred method) if you haven't done so already
"star" your letter Google Document (click the star icon next to your letter and it becomes gold)
click the "more" (/less toggle) below the left navigation to see more and the "All Items" link
Click that "All Items" link and you should see "RPCVroot"
Open "RPCVroot" and you should see "2013rpcv"
"Star" that "2013rpcv" folder
Now in the left navigation, go to "Starred" and you should see both:
your letter
the "2013rpcv" directory
Now drag-n-drop your letter into the "2013rpcv" directory
For the long-term you might want to star the RPCVroot directory, giving yourself easy access to all letters for every year.
The following movie was real for one person; but, may not work for you.
Video demonstrating how to drag-n-drop your Google Document letter into our shared Google Drive from a link to the drive provided in an email from the coordinator.
sheba huntle - pause the video as needed to read the notes and make the video larger if it is too small
drag - to "drag" your document, hold down the mouse and pull your document to the target directory. The drag is from your personal drive to our shared drive. My personal drive has a directory called letters and yours may not.
and - during the drag I hover over our shared RPCVroot directory, and it automatically opens up exposing the target directory (2013rpcv in this demo).
drop - "drop" your document by finally releasing the mouse when it is over the target directory. If you make a mistake, just move it again.
double check - navigate to the directory to make sure your letter is really in there; and, check the permissions making sure the group can view, but not edit, your letter. Your coordinator should check this for you also.
Ask the coordinator for help if you have issues.
