Dogs just wanna have fun!

Lure course and scent work are activities that help dogs gain confidence and trust.
I like tracking as much as the dogs do!

Nugget was rescued from the streets of Austin and learned to play and trust people after a rough start.

Shasta was a fearful shelter dog who flourished with TTouch and positive training methods.

Kodiak, a rescued 3-legged boy, lived a long life as a beloved family member.

Teresa was a rescued Korean meat dog who was undersocialized from living in a crate for breeding. With TTouch and patience, she bloomed and learned to trust people in a few short weeks.

Iris came from a backyard breeder situation where 70 small mixed breed dogs of different ages were rescued. She was feral, fearful, sick and had already a litter of puppies.
She has gained trust and confidence with the science-based, gentle methods of relating to her.

From feral to family.

Luna was an owner surrender to the shelter and rescued by Austin German Shepherd rescue.
She won blue ribbons for her scent detection. Best dog ever!

Many of these dogs had bite histories, were abandoned, had lost trust in humans.
With experienced professionals who know how to relate to dogs, not dominate, they found love and companionship.

Don't trust your family pet to anyone who calls themselves a dog trainer. Many self-trained "trainers" use choke collars or electronic shock devices to punish or "correct" behaviors.
Shocking the nervous system is simply not what science has proven that is best for them to learn.
Like trauma in humans, more averse experiences do nothing to soothe the shocked nervous system.

Punishment results in shut down, not learning. A dog can't learn when in fear mode.
