Apparently it's rare to find mistletoe on an asimina triloba pawpaw tree. I found this specimen in Richmond, KY. I've asked several pawpaw experts about it, and none of them could recall seeing mistletoe on an asimina triloba tree. It appears to be oak mistletoe Phoradendron leucarpum which is more common in the southeastern USA. It's commonly found on hardwoods like hickory, walnut, and oak.
