Hans is successfully growing pawpaw-tree-varieties without the assistance of poly-tunnel-greenhouses. The fruit also ripens without assistance. The following varieties produce ripe fruit for him in the Netherlands: Overleese, Sunflower, Prolific, Davis, Wells, and Rebecca's Gold, and his favorite variety from the collection is Overleese. He also prefers Prolific and Davis.

His growing-strategy mixes the pawpaw trees with other plant-specimens to create an edible-landscape. The method is known as "Forest Gardening and Gardenhood" and it is popular in Europe. Hans also owns a nursery operation and a winery. He sells pawpaw trees and his nursery is listed in the nursery section.
